Hello, D.C.!

We arrived in DC late afternoon and got settled into our accommodations.

1-row houses

Rather than stay at a hotel toward the fringes, we’re staying in row houses in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. These three-story buildings line many of the streets in D.C., one of the most human-scaled cities in America.

Walking to stretch our legs after the flight, we headed the few blocks to Eastern Market, the 130-year-old public market that is the only one in the city still functioning in its historic building.

And we know we’re here with Honors students, because we had to duck into the used bookstore and linger amongst the teetering stacks of books on every side.

 

We’ve got our bearings, we’ve got our schedule. Here we go!
